My friend
Mandy and I were talking on the phone the other day and I was telling her my homemaking woes. I had a mother who could do it all - crochet, sew, can, the list goes on and on and on. I remember my mom trying to teach me how to crochet, how to sew, and I remember seeing her set up the downstairs kitchen as her personal canning area but I was too impatient to stick with any of these skills so that I would LEARN them. Now that I'm a stay at home mom I am constantly kicking myself for not paying more attention. Well as me and Mandy talked she suggested that we go to the
Raspberry Patch. The Raspberry Patch is a family owned business in Payson, about half an hour south of where we live. There you will find the cutest country home with rows and rows of beautiful raspberries. You pick your own and when you are done you weigh them and put your check/cash in a little tin on the table. The best part? It was only $2.00 a pound! Can you believe it? So we spent Saturday morning picking raspberries. They were amazing...so much better than any raspberries I ever had. Matt and I made raspberry pie, I froze some raspberries, ate some raspberries, and the best part? Come Monday Mandy and I made Raspberry jam. It was SO much easier than I thought it would be and now I have the most delicious raspberry jam that will last me quite a while. Thanks, Mandy, for helping me learn new homemaking skills!
Well this week I also FINALLY took three month pictures of Chelsea. She had been sick for quite a while, but is finally over it. She still is so confused when it comes to the camera, but we got a couple cute pictures of her before she got the confused look on her face.

Isn't she a doll? I love her more and more every day. Her big milestones this month are holding her head up even more during tummy time, almost rolling over, "talking" (okay, babbling, but whatever she's saying is always serious to her), and becoming better friends with the trees outside. Yes, the trees. Chelsea has a fascination with leaves and trees. It is so cute.
Our last big adventure this week was going to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for a banquet supporting
Southern Cross Humanitarian. My aunt and uncle served their missions in Peru and were looking for a good humanitarian organization that worked there so they could take their family to serve there. That's when they found Southern Cross. My sister has also been to Peru with this organization. Because Matt served his mission in Peru they invited us to this banquet and we were so grateful. We had a fantastic time. The food was amazing, the view was spectacular, but more than anything we were so blessed to hear of the efforts of so many to serve children who just need a chance for a good life.
We got some great pictures. Bless my brother Allen's heart...he held Baby C so I could eat. She fell asleep in his arms without a fuss. We could use Allen at home every day at nap time!!

Great view of the temple, not so much of Chelsea.
It was great showing Baby C where our family began - the Salt Lake Temple.

Awhile ago I was doing some blog stalking. I like to do that sometimes. I just have not gotten around to leaving you a comment. I saw a picture of your baby's blessing and there was a lady who looked really familiar, it was your Mom. It took me a few minutes to piece together the face and the name. You may not remember me, but I remember you. Maybe I should dig out some pictures just to prove I am not crazy. My name is Janae Richardson. We lived in your Seattle ward until we were about 8 or 9. My dad passed away and we moved to Utah. We have been here ever since. I remember doing Girl Scouts and playing at your house. Your Mom was such a fun lady and a great laugh.
So I just wanted to say Hi. Your little girl is so cute. Girls are the best!
Hey Mel,
I love raspberries! We lived in Idaho one summer with my uncle, who had a whole backyard full of raspberry bushes-yum! Lots of jam was made that summer.
Chelsea is so sweet-maybe she and Clara can meet one day. :)
Kristen
Lily and Chels have the same outfit! The little white and pink onsie in the picture w/ the pants that match... how crazy! I will have to take a pic of her in it and post it on my blog so we can compare.
My aunt and uncle grow enough raspberries and people would come pick them. I would pick for the min the summer to make money. The aunt and uncle in Genola that Matt knows. Aren't they delicious?! I went there when I was prego this summer, they picked a bunch for me, and I just sat there and ate them. YUM!
Congrats on the jam!
So our blog really did get stalked by someone we aren’t comfortable with- and instead of going private, we are just changing some settings and our blog’s URL. Please switch it to: gregpluscamille.blospot.com so you can still follow our blog!
Oh my gosh! I can't believe I lived in Provo for 7 years and never knew about that raspberry patch! I have to come back.
Wow! Devee looks beautiful! I mean she was always pretty but she's turning into a knockout...she's probably embarrased as she's reading this...and i need to call you and chelsea does look beautiful too.
So I obviously got your invite! Baby C (do you try not to use her name?) is so darling! I can't believe how big she is. I am excited to see her again. Ben has a crazy week this week, but maybe we could get together the next week sometime. Also, I am jealous of your raspberries. They sound delicious!
