This year, since our little Lucy was only four months old at the beginning of December, they asked us to participate as the live nativity. We were the final live nativity of the creche on Sunday night. In the morning we went to church and a man at church bore his testimony about his experience at the creche. He went the night before and one of the performers was singing Mary's Lullaby just as he saw the live nativity. He cried as he talked about how it hit him how hard it must have been for Mary to give up her son for the world because he really was her little one. That testimony really stuck with me. As I looked at little Lucy I was filled with love and appreciation for Mary, a mother, who loved her son as a mother does. Who wanted to protect him, and yet knew that he had a great cause to fulfill. I loved Mary and respected and reverenced her so much more this year.
