I realize how much I've been slacking on this here little family journal. It's my goal to update it much more often. Here's what's been going on in our family -
Matt has (thankfully) been transfered back to Costa Mesa. It's a 15 minute drive to work now as opposed to an hour and a half. We are loving having him close. He's back in the estimating department and working on a hospital project in San Francisco, which means we may be making another move. Oh the life of a commercial construction worker in a difficult economy. We're so grateful he still has this job and hope that we are able to ride the bad economic wave all the way through with a job in tact. In his rare free time Matt's been working with the missionaries in our area. He's been involved with the mission program with our church ever since we were married and it's been such a blessing to be so closely tied with the work that's going on. We particularly like the missionaries working in our area right now. They are good, good people.
I have had my hands in all sorts of projects lately. On Easter we experienced a fun little earthquake which was a gentle reminder to make sure our emergency preparedness plan was in solid place. We found a great website - http://foodstoragemadeeasy.net/ that has really helped us out. In addition to working on that I am also busy working on our family photobook for last year, which means a lot of photo editing. I have been so interested in photography and photo editing as of late. I think because I've seen what good photographers can do and I want to have beautiful keepsakes of my children. I see so many photo worthy shots around here that, even with Photoshop Elements, don't turn out as well as I'm sure they would with a DSLR camera. I know we can't get one right now, but I've decided to start learning more about photography in the hopes that when we can get one, I will be ready to use that beautiful camera. In addition to that I've started watching two little girls a few days a week while there mom works. It was a random park meeting and, so far, has really worked out great. The girls are three and nine months. Chelsea is learning to share, which can sometimes be painful, but overall she's loved it to.
Our little Chelsea is increasingly not so little. She's a little chatterbox and can use her words pretty well to tell you what's going on. She's curious about the potty and wants to use it, but when it comes down to it is still a little cautious about giving up those diapers. Lately she's had a tough time sleeping again. She went from sleeping through the night to waking up every two hours. It's much harder to figure out what to do now that she's in a toddler bed. I'm hoping that ends soon since I'll be waking up that much in three months when this little one comes.
The baby is doing great. I will have another ultrasound in a few weeks to check on her progress since the last ultrasound came back with some concerns, but my midwife isn't too concerned, which is comforting. We're still praying that she's growing healthy and strong. We don't have a name yet, but we're considering a few. I think we may not know for sure until she gets here.
Now for your viewing enjoyment...
Tustin had a great Easter activity the Saturday before. Here's Chelsers trying to get the courage to pet the goat at the animal petting area.

I just love this picture. Mama's sunglasses, her breakfast, and her computer.

3 months? Really? How'd that happen so fast? Are you going to post any prego pics?
Melanie if and when you decided to get a new camera :) Mike and Shari just bought one - the Nikon D40- it's not in stores anymore because it's not one of Nikon's super new ones but all the reviews say it's a REALLY GREAT camera and it was only $399 from Best Buy online.
